Sports performance Training

Sports performance training at Cross the Line Physical Therapy and Performance is designed for athletes and active individuals who want to move better, train smarter, and perform at a higher level. Whether you’re returning to sport after completing a Physical Therapy plan of care, training in the off-season, or simply looking to improve strength, speed, and resilience, our performance services bridge the gap between rehabilitation and high-level training.

What is sports performance training?

Sports performance training focuses on developing the physical qualities that support athletic success and long-term health. This includes strength, power, speed, mobility, coordination, and movement efficiency.

Unlike traditional gym-based training, sports performance programming is tailored to the demands of your sport or activity, your training history, and your individual movement patterns to ensure progress that is both effective and sustainable.

A Physical Therapy-led Performance approach

All sports performance services at Cross the Line are led by a licensed Physical Therapist. This allows for a deeper understanding of movement mechanics, injury risk, and appropriate loading strategies.

This perspective is especially valuable for individuals with a history of injury, recurring pain, or those transitioning out of Physical Therapy who want to continue progressing without losing the movement quality and resilience they’ve built.

Who is sports performance training for?

Sports performance training may be a great fit for:

  • Athletes returning to sport after injury

  • Competitive athletes in the off-season or pre-season

  • Runners, lifters, and field or court sport athletes

  • Active adults who want to train hard while staying healthy

  • Individuals limited by recurring aches, stiffness, or movement inefficiencies

In-person sports performance coaching

Step into a performance-focused training environment where every session is tailored to you. In-person sports performance coaching combines individualized programming with real-time feedback and hands-on guidance to help you train efficiently and maximize every session.

Training may emphasize strength and power development, mobility, movement quality, and injury resilience, all aligned with your goals and activity demands.

Coaching options

Sports performance coaching is offered in the following formats:

  • One-on-one coaching for fully individualized training and focused progression

  • Small group coaching (groups of 2-3) for athletes who want individualized attention with the added benefit of training alongside others

Continuation program: The next step after physical Therapy

Many people choose to continue working with us after completing Physical Therapy, ready to move beyond recovery and pursue higher levels of performance. Our continuation program bridges the gap between rehabilitation and long-term training.

This program is ideal for individuals who feel “done with rehab” but still want structure, progression, and professional guidance to support performance, longevity, and confidence in movement.

Programs are progressed over time based on performance goals, training response, and overall workload to support consistency and long-term success.

Patients are eligible for transition to a continuation program once they have fully completed a Physical Therapy plan of care.

If you’re looking for a structured, individualized approach to sports performance training, we’d love to help. Schedule a consultation to discuss your goals and determine the best coaching option for you.
