Physical Therapy Evaluation

There is a reason our patients frequently say things like,

“this was by far the most thorough evaluation I’ve ever received”.

Our Physical Therapy evaluations last 1 hour. During that hour, your Doctor will collect an extensive history to gather information on your condition. Next, any necessary physical and functional assessments will be completed to best determine what type of treatment plan will most effectively serve you and your goals. Once a plan has been developed and all of your questions have been answered, the remainder of the session will consist of beginning treatments and establishing a home exercise program so that you can continue to make progress in between sessions.

Our evaluations are unique from many other Physical Therapy evaluations because we place an emphasis on truly measuring every pertinent variable to remove bias from our decision making process. Have you ever visited a medical provider who seemed to latch onto one thing you said, based their entire treatment plan off that one thing, all while seemingly ignoring everything else you told them? At Cross the Line, we consider every single every piece of information while making decisions because we know how important your health is to you.

While many Physical Therapists will simply move your joints around and guess what the range of motion is, or quickly provide manual resistance to “test” strength, we believe in using equipment and technology to accurately assess where your deficits are. As we say, “If you aren’t measuring, you’re just guessing.” This allows us to get to the root of your problem without wasting time on unnecessary interventions over the course of your care.

Just like your surgeon collects real data from an MRI before doing a surgery even when all signs were already pointing towards the need for surgery – we believe in collecting as much objective data as possible to direct each patient’s treatment plan so that we can eliminate as much uncertainty from the process as possible. With such a thorough evaluation process, we are able to help patients achieve their goals in fewer visits than would typically be expected.
